2017 was a special year for Adams – we celebrated our 20th anniversary in business. It was full of events, achievements, but also reflections about the future. In this blog post, we want to take you on a journey through some of our special moments from 2017.
Interview with Maureen Adam in the NRC
Our founder, Maureen Adam was featured in the NRC – the daily evening newspaper in the Netherlands. In this article Maureen spoke about what prompted her to establish a recruitment company in the Netherlands, her experience as an entrepreneur, work–life balance, the 20th-anniversary celebration and more.
Aramco Beach Run
Our team joined a new community initiative – the Aramco Beach Run at Scheveningen beach. The running event encouraged all participants to raise money for the Juliana Children’s Hospital. All money raised was allocated to fund the research and treatment of children with recurring respiratory tract infections.
Adams Beach Party
To celebrate the 20th anniversary, Adams organised a beach party at the Hippie Fish in Zandvoort. The guest list included everyone who worked at Adams since the company was established in 1997. It was a very special day for all of us, full of great stories. Plus, quite surprising for the Netherlands – the weather was amazing throughout the whole day!

Social media following growth
We also increased our efforts to grow our digital audience on other platforms. We achieved a 40% increase in our Facebook page likes, compared to last year, and a 30% increase in followers on LinkedIn.

The Future of Recruitment Conference
On November 2nd we hosted– “The Future of Recruitment Conference” – our biggest event of the year. Aimed at HR and talent acquisition managers, the conference was a way to thank our clients for their loyalty and business over the last twenty years. We’ve brought together speakers who gave us insights into the challenges we are facing in recruitment and the changes in society in the coming years. The conference was a great success and we were really happy to see the venue filled with 150 attendees, who felt inspired and challenged to think about the future after the conference was over. Many thanks for the positive feedback!
Company growth continues
What makes Adams special are the people who work here. We have a collaborative atmosphere in our offices and a really enthusiastic team. We value all our relationships – with clients, candidates and colleagues and we make sure that there is always someone to help when it’s needed. In 2017 some of our dear colleagues decided to head off to new adventures, but also many new others joined, and now our team has more members than ever. We’re all very excited about what the new year will bring us and look forward to many more special moments.
