Are you an experienced field sales professional with a strong background in FMCG and food industry expertise? We are looking for a Field Sales Manager with proven B2B sales capabilities on behalf of our client, a European meat products distributor
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management & Client Development
- Manage and grow existing client accounts within the French market
- Conduct regular field visits to client locations, building face-to-face relationships and understanding customer operations and business goals
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans and account strategies tailored to each client's needs
- Work with clients to expand their product portfolio, identifying opportunities for category growth
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and prospect new business opportunities within the assigned territory
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract finalisation with clients
- Achieve sales targets and contribute to regional revenue growth
- Develop commercially sound proposals that create value for both clients and the company
Market Intelligence & Planning
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand signals within the assigned territory
- Conduct competitor research, including retail chain visits where appropriate, to understand market positioning
- Provide market feedback to internal teams to inform business strategy
- Plan and execute field visit schedules efficiently, clustering meetings by region to optimise travel
CRM & Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the SAP CRM system for all customer interactions and sales activities
- Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management
- Coordinate with customer care teams for order processing, logistics, and invoicing support
Internal Collaboration & Events
- Participate in sales team meetings, training sessions, and strategy sessions (typically once per month or once every 2 months)
- Attend relevant industry trade shows and exhibitions
- Collaborate with marketing, product, and logistics teams to ensure seamless client support and product delivery
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- 7-10 years of total sales experience, with at least 3 years in FMCG
- Proven track record in B2B sales within FMCG, ideally with large companies
- Experience selling to retail (supermarkets, hypermarkets), foodservice (HoReCa), or wholesale/distribution clients
- Valid driver's licence
- Comfortable with frequent field travel and independent remote working
- Fluency in English and French C2 level
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP CRM experience is a plus
- Meat industry experience is highly preferred
- Understanding of European food market dynamics and buyer behaviour across multiple countries (highly preferred)
What We Offer:
- Base salary from €60,000 to €70,000 gross per year + 8% holiday allowance
- Quarterly commission: One monthly salary per quarter (performance-based)
- Car arrangement options: personal vehicle mileage reimbursement at €0.23 per kilometre OR monthly car allowance of €500
- All business travel expenses are covered
- Meal and incidental expenses during business travel reimbursed
- 24 days of annual leave
- Company laptop provided
- Mobile phone or personal subscription reimbursement
- Remote, field-based role with flexibility on location
- Office visits required for onboarding and periodic team meetings (once per month or once every 2 months)
- 7-month contract with 1-month probation, followed by a 1-year or permanent contract
- Exposure to an international commercial environment within a large-scale European food group
- Attendance at major European food industry trade shows
