Are you a detail-oriented procurement professional with a feel for FMCG? Our client, the European subsidiary of a well-known Asian food brand, is looking for a Buying/Procurement Officer to join their Supply Chain team in Amsterdam.

About the Company

Our client is the official European arm of a major Asian food producer, responsible for distributing its full product range across European markets. The portfolio includes a flagship series of spicy noodle products that have built a strong international following in recent years. The Amsterdam office functions as the European HQ, working closely with the Global HQ on supply planning, logistics, and commercial operations.

The team is international, multicultural, and growing, with a strong focus on operational precision and cross-functional collaboration.

The Role

Reporting to the Supply Chain Lead, the Buying/Procurement Officer owns the full procurement process for products sourced from the Korean parent company. This is a hands-on, administratively precise role that sits at the centre of the supply chain, coordinating closely with logistics, sales, and finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the intercompany procurement process, managing all purchase orders from the parent company in line with global agreements, HQ allocation, and supply chain planning.
  • Drive the complete PO cycle from start to finish, ensuring accurate and timely order registration and documentation in the ERP system (SAP).
  • Verify order details and issue POs to ensure procurement timelines are met and supply risks are minimised.
  • Act as an independent function within the supply chain, providing objective insights and clear feedback to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate proactively with Demand Planners and Logistics Coordinators to optimise supply chain efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional fluency in written and spoken English
  • Being able to work 5 days onsite in the Amstelveen office
  • Strong data entry skills with high attention to accuracy in order management
  • Proficiency in SAP and the MS Office suite
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional interaction
  • Currently living in the Netherlands with a valid working permit. This is a must
  • Experience in FMCG or the food industry is a strong advantage

What Is On Offer

  • Competitive salary
  • Commuting benefit
  • 25 days of paid leave per year
  • Company laptop and phone
  • Access to collective health insurance
  • Office located in the centre of Amstelveen
  • An international team of skilled colleagues
  • 1-year contract directly with our client

Interested? We look forward to hearing from you.

Please note that we can only consider applicants currently living in the Netherlands who do not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

こんにちは!

I'm Izumi from Japan. I speak Japanese and English and am on my way to mastering the Dutch language. I studied Language and Area Studies in Tokyo for my bachelor's degree and relocated to the Netherlands right after my graduation in 2019. I have been working in recruitment for as long as I have lived here and I love it! In my personal life, I like working out, travelling, having good food, and walking with my lovely Shiba Inu dog.
