Are you a detail-oriented, German-speaking data professional with a strong analytical mindset, looking for a role where you can combine compliance, sustainability, and data analysis in an international setting? We are looking for a Junior Compliance Data Analyst on behalf of our client, an international company based in Amsterdam, active in the lower-carbon fuels and renewable energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

Mass and Emissions Reporting

  • Prepare and monitor monthly mass balances for various sites and product groups in line with the requirements of different sustainability programmes
  • Calculate and report greenhouse gas emission values in accordance with the applicable European sustainability schemes
  • Manage, monitor, and validate raw material and biofuel volume flows in the EU Databases, including the execution and review of transactions under applicable sustainability regulations

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Develop and run data analyses to support compliance monitoring across the European business
  • Automate recurring Excel queries and prepare internal and external reports
  • Build and maintain dashboards for data visualisation, supporting both day-to-day operations and management reporting

Audits and Compliance Documentation

  • Actively support the preparation and execution of internal and external audits
  • Help maintain sustainability-related compliance programmes across the European footprint
  • Manage and review sustainability-related compliance documentation provided by suppliers and customers
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and review of internal compliance policies and procedures

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the sales, accounting, IT, and quality teams across the Amsterdam and German offices on day-to-day compliance topics
  • Act as the Amsterdam-based counterpart to the compliance team in Germany, reporting directly to the hiring manager based at the German office
  • Manage incoming requests from internal stakeholders
  • Travel to the German production sites approximately 2 to 4 times per year, often together with colleagues from sales or quality assurance

Qualifications & Skills

  • Near-native fluency in German and professional fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Completed commercial vocational training or a comparable qualification or degree
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, compliance, sustainability reporting, audit, or a related field
  • Strong Excel skills, with hands-on experience in data analysis, data preparation, and visualisation; working knowledge of Power BI and Power Pivot
  • Strong analytical thinking, structured approach, and a high level of attention to detail
  • A collaborative team player who builds trust with colleagues, while also able to work independently and take ownership in a cross-functional, cross-location setting
  • Comfortable working with internal stakeholders at different seniority levels
  • Affinity with sustainability, renewable energy, or regulated reporting environments is a plus
  • Valid Class B driver’s licence is preferred

What We Offer

  • Gross annual salary between €46,100 and €57,600, including 8% holiday allowance, depending on experience
  • Annual bonus based on individual performance multiplied by company performance, with the individual component scaled between 7% and 13% of the annual salary
  • Pension plan with a 3% employee contribution and 9% employer contribution
  • 25 vacation days per year
  • 1-year contract directly with the client, with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time position of 40 hours per week, with a fixed work-from-home day on Fridays and 4 days in the Amsterdam office, Monday to Thursday
  • Office located in Amsterdam, with very good public transport access
  • Choice between an NS Business Card or a kilometre allowance for commuting, set at €0.25 per kilometre up to a maximum of 50 km one way, with parking near the office covered by the employer
  • Lease bike scheme available as an option
  • Work phone (Apple or Samsung) and laptop provided
  • Structured onboarding and training on the renewable energy and compliance side of the role, with close support from the hiring manager and the wider European team
  • Regular group activities and a small, international Amsterdam office with a mix of nationalities, backgrounds, and disciplines, working closely with colleagues in Germany and the United States
